Description

Strong magnetic fields are expected to be present in non-central heavy ion collisions and in the interior of compact stars. Lattice simulations show that deconfinement and chiral phase transition are affected by the presence of magnetic field. I will discuss properties of the latter using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. Effect of the lowest Landau level will be also examined.
