The 11th annual conference of the Polish Society on Relativity aims to bring Polish and foreign relativists together to exchange ideas on a broad range of subjects related to General Relativity.
The Polish Society on Relativity (PoToR) is the only Polish organisation of physicists engaged in the research on gravity.
Including an online conference organized in the times of COVID pandemic, it will actually be the 12th event in a series that started in 2014 (after Warsaw, Poland hosted the 20th International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation and the 10th Edoardo Amaldi Conference on Gravitational Waves in 2013). More about this series of conferences can be found here.
Outline of scientific programme:
The programme of upcoming event will include both invited lectures and regular talks.
We intend to cover a broad spectrum of cutting-edge topics in theoretical and observational physics. This will include mathematical structures in classical gravity, providing insights into exact solutions of Einstein's equations and the physics of black holes. Participants will also present advanced cosmological models and alternative theories of gravity, as well as the latest research on gravitational waves and astrophysics.
Other talks will focus on quantum gravity. In particular, they will touch upon the subject of phenomenology of quantum gravity (based on such ideas as potential violations or deformations of Lorentz invariance), examining its application in multi-messenger astrophysics, along with new developments in quantum systems. The latter can soon be tested in table-top gravity measurements that challenge experimental boundaries.
Additionally, the event will explore the area of cosmological surveys, addressing issues such as observation systematics and their effects on understanding dark energy and dark matter. By integrating discussions on gravitation and fundamental physics, we aim to encourage collaboration and drive progress in solving the universe's most complex mysteries.
Join us to gain new insights and contribute to shaping the future of gravitational research and related fields!
