Transport to Karpacz

We will organize a bus transfer to Karpacz, which will leave from the Institute of Theoretical Physics at Plac M. Borna 9, 50-204 Wrocław, on Sunday June 19th 2022 at 4:00 p.m.; estimated travel time to Karpacz is about 2 hours. On Saturday June 25th 2022, we will also organise a return bus to Wrocław, which will leave after the breakfast at around 10:00 a.m.


Arriving to Wrocław

by plane:

The Copernicus Airport is the major airport in Wrocław. There are several flights per day from Warszaw, Poland, as well as Frankfurt and Munich, Germany. The airport is well connected to the city center.

To reach either the city centre or the Institute of Theoretical Physics from the airport, you can take:

  • Taxi: 50 zł ~ 15 €
  • Public transportation: Tickets may be purchased in ticket machines (biletomat) located at bus stops or onboard tram/bus using debit or credit card. Single ride ticket is 3 zł (~ 0.75 €) valid for 30 minutes. Please follow Google Maps public transportation instructions.

by train:

The central train station (Wrocław dworzec główny) is located in the city center. The timetable can be found here. The train station is well connected with all parts of the city. Bus and tram stops are located both north and south of the train station.

To get to the Institute of Theoretical Physics (Pl. M. Borna 9): take tram line 0P (direction "Dworzec Nadodrze") and leave at the "Dmowskiego" stop; turn to the right and walk across the bridge, turn right again after the bridge and you are facing the building of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, where the Institute of Theoretical Physics is located at the 4thfloor.

by car:

Wrocław is located at the highway A4, which connects the city to Katowice/Cracow/Opole to the east and Legnica/Zgorzelec/Dresden(Germany) to the west. It is also connected to the national roads: 5 Poznań, 8 Kłodzko/Prague/Warsaw, 35 Jelenia Góra, 94 Oława/Zielona Góra.


Traveling within Wrocław

To travel within Wrocław you can use tram or bus. Tickets may be purchased in ticket machine (biletomat), located at bus stops, or onboard tram/bus, using debit or credit card.
